OUR MISSION
We simplify the way of approaching the food sector to:
- help our customers focus on their business without worrying about having to manage complex IT systems
- enable our partners to conquer a new market through a dynamic, flexible solution: TRACK
ENGINEERING
Zuffellato’s engineering projects regard numerous sectors of the food industry and share a common denominator: the guarantee of an operational method that assures competence and professionalism, for a complete service in which we stand alongside the customer.
INNOVATION AND EXPERIMENTATION
A continuous focus on innovation and experimentation is an integral part of Zuffellato’s activity, thanks to continuous partnering with the university research community and participation in international projects in the ICT realm.
Our interest is presently concentrated, in particular, in optimising process efficiency and product quality certification, with the aim of making our IT solutions even more secure and reliable.
The birth of the TRACK project
Cutting-edge technologies for food chain tracking and safety in Europe
The solid experience of Zuffellato Computers in the food tracking sector, together with the feedback of our customers, has enabled us to identify a new market need: the food industry lacks an integrated system that ensures thorough tracking throughout the entire production chain. Moreover, consumers are increasingly affected by food intolerances and allergies, so they pay more and more attention to the origin and composition of products.
In this context, Zuffellato Computers is working to develop an integrated solution that can simultaneously meet the demands of both the industry and consumers. This new technological solution – which also provides for the use of RFID technology for tracking and monitoring the temperature of products – in accordance with the modern principles of the Internet of Things, offers the possibility of providing complete, real-time tracking along the entire chain at low costs and in an efficient manner.
The big data platform will contain all the logistical information, along with temperature monitoring and product traceability data, with the possibility for all stakeholders to query the system in real time.
TRACK and the European Union
Excellence within the framework of EU Horizon 2020 projects
The possibility of tracking products along the whole production chain in order to guarantee their safety and quality is recognised as a key, priority element in European Union policies and the TRACK project is perfectly in line with European food safety standards established by Regulation (EC) No 178/2002, approved in 2002 and in force as of 2005.
The Regulation introduced the obligation to ensure traceability, defined as “the ability to trace and follow a food, feed, food-producing animal or substance intended to be, or expected to be incorporated into a food or feed, through all stages of production, processing and distribution”; therefore, all food business operators must have systems and procedures in place for meeting this obligation.
The project further aims at the internationalisation of food tracking software thanks to experimental partnerships in Serbia and Poland, which fit into the framework of Action 3.4.1, Axis 3 for the competitiveness and attractiveness of the production system, of the European Regional Development Fund ERDF ROP 2014-2020.
